These pots are handmade in Burma and are wonderful for cooking on an open flame, on the electric or gas burner and in the oven! They are unglazed earthenware pots that add an earthy touch to any soup, casserole,potatoe, vegetable or rice dish. They are "sealed" and ready for use daily after a preliminary prepartion (By boling water in them twice and then drying and wiping a thin layer of oil on the inside and heating at medium heat in the oven for an hour).
They come in 2 styles: rounded with lugs(handles) in : 1,1and 1/2,and 3 liter sizes (as seen at top of photo) or straight sided in 1, 3, and 7 liter sizes.(as seen at the bottom of photo). They nest in each other. A set of 3 cost 160 nis.
